this is jeff from jungleland skates at solvang. he's the one that lives up the winding roads in the california hills. the drive up to and from his house was fun. i wouldn't mind living there one day if i happen to get rich somehow.

ahhh...santa clarita's new park. this park is amazing. however, the day we went, the traffic was insane. since they allow bikes, it makes it difficult to get around when it's crowded. we went back the next day at 8 am but it was closed due to the holiday. oh well... next time!


this is wrex's smith at loree and jon's ramp. loree and jon are super rad people. we camped in their garage with the ramp on a comfy ikea couch. colin got the ramp. such a fun night with lots of laughter!

this is solvang again. this park was pretty awesome and not your average cup of tea to skate. such beautiful scenery and a lovely bbq area below the park.

happiness pie

went to cali for the weekend to places less inhabited or noticeably less people than a normal weekend. the weather was a perfect average of 72. a little gloomy in the mornings but once the sun rose, the gloomy burned off. visited a new friend colin who took us around to different parks and awesome new people. such a great way to get away from everything with not a single worry in the world. wrex coined the trip "happiness pie". here's some random pics...

this is as close as we got to the beach. by the time we headed back the sun was out and the waves were nice


we drove way up to pick up a friend of colin's (our tour guide), i looked over not realizing how high we had winded up the mountain - mindblowing!

the new az steez is out and i have to say it's one of the best issues yet after actually sitting down and reading it. with more variety of contributors, it's covering a lot of scenes. not just focusing on any one avenue of skateboarding. because we all know there's way more than just trannies and stairs. there's road trips that keep the twinkle in your eye, there's people that inspire you, and there's ways of looking at things only you can see if you've been there.

trinidad colorado was home to the first sex change in the united states. it's also home to one of the most amazing skateparks in the world. i haven't been lucky enough to go there yet. here are some pictures of places to go in trinidad.
